Hello David. Beautiful bike, to be enjoyed. I am totally blown away with your riding attire! Especially your boots. Now I can put a face to your posts. You are a young ole man. Got to give you credit for your persistence in not giving up your passion to ride at any age. Special thanks to your wife for uploading the pics.

Actually, that Mat Black color is pretty popular these days and easy to keep clean. Why?? Cause ya can't see the dirt!! [Actually,Indian now has a Mat White color too] I haven't washed it yet, only blown any dust of it with my air gun,but don't you worry cause it's due for a bath and will get one directly. And BTW!! You otta see me with my Storm Trooper helmet to match the boots!! Hile or should I say "Hang" Hitler!

If you're referring to the containers on the cabinet over my right shoulder, that is NOT pledge. Those are Absorbers, very similar to a shammy except they're a lot cheaper and work tens times better. And you know "fuckin right well" that I do NOT use synthetic oil in anything I own.

Yup! I looked at the R3 also BEFORE I looked at anything else, but since I'm not gettin any younger, I had to pass on it cause it was just too dam heavy. But it was close cause I really liked it. The Indian model I bought only weighs 18 lbs. more then my Triumph SE did.,or 830 lbs.dry.However,the injun also has a 26 inch seat height which makes it real easy to handle in traffic and in tight places. So I don't think,or hope, that I did NOT make a mistake. And so far,so good.

I'm sure you will be happy Dave...I have three cobbers who have injun's...one has a scout..(too small for me, knees are way up by my arms!)...one has a Pearl white Chieftain and the other has a Dark Horse...they all love em!
They dont know which way i went when we open them up but when we go for a ride we ride as a group...its not about who is fastest these days. Comfort is right up there.
I have my Roadster the way i like it and its soooooo comfy. If i change in the future and had to choose from bikes that are current now?...the Injuns would be on my list ....purchase price would make me think hard tho.

That's a beautiful bike Dave. Indian's are definitely on my short list for next bike if Triumph doesn't come out with something to replace the Thunderbird. And I just can't see them doing that with how little they supported the Bird when it was out. I'd be very happy to be wrong though if they did bring something out.

Dave, I see you added some lowers to the crash-bars. Were you getting helmet buffeting and did that solve the problem?

I also see what looks like a flap added to the front fender

Negative!! The pieces you refer to,or lowers, are something I made up outta 1/8" Lexan bought at Home Depot, to keep the wind, rain, and more specifically, the cold air during the winter months, off my feet and lower legs, because, even though my boots are tall and pretty warm,my feet and lower legs still get chilled.Of course,if I didn't ride in the cold temps, and foul weather,I probably wouldn't need em.But then again, since I'm a die hard rider, well,we'll let it go at that!!

And yes again on the flaps.I made one for the front and one for the back. And everyone who rides an Indian and sees em, wants to know where I bought em.[Indian wants a lot of money for their flaps which don't work worth a shit, but, look really cool, not to mention, cost an unholy fortune.]

So!! What I did,was make a trip to my friendly junk yard and picked up a couple of old rubber floor mats I found laying in the mud,[free of course, ] brought em home, cut, shaped and measured em to fit the bottoms of the front and rear fenders, then mounted em.And,they actually WORK!! On the front of the motor, right down at the bottom, and directly in harms way,is the oil filter and voltage regulator, which I noticed immediately when I bought the bike. And due to the shape of the bottom of the front fender, any road debris kicked up from the tire, can and will impact those components, which can and will create a MAJOR problem.

Now the funny part!! One of the floor mats I made the flaps from had the word "Kraco" [the company that made these floor mats] stamped into it.My buddy says to me,you watch, guys are gonna say that they didn't know Kraco made MC mud flaps too and where can they buy em.Well, he was right as I've had a number of Indian riders ask where I got em.

Not bad for a DUMB POLOCK,whadaya think?????????????? Dummy Dave!!!
